Pentagon Deploys Google Gemini-Powered GenAI.mil for Military Operations
The U.S. Department of Defense has launched GenAI.mil, an artificial intelligence platform powered by Google Gemini, designed to enhance military and civilian operations. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth unveiled the system in a Tuesday announcement, framing it as a transformative tool for modern warfare. "The future of American warfare is here, and it’s spelled AI," Hegseth declared, emphasizing the need to outpace adversaries in technological adoption.
GenAI.mil enables rapid data analysis, document formatting, and intelligence processing, reducing manual workloads. The platform is built exclusively on U.S. technology, with plans for continuous upgrades to maintain battlefield superiority. "We will aggressively field the world’s best technology to make our fighting force more lethal," Hegseth stated, underscoring the Pentagon's commitment to AI-driven warfare.
